WBAL reports Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot is calling out a legislative proposal that would curtail his power to regulate alcohol, tobacco and motor fuel sales. At a time when one brewery has opened in Allegany County and another has plans to operate in the very near future, Franchot called the legislation filed this week nonsense. He accused lawmakers who would support the bill of being controlled by "the corporate, out of state beer interests" in response to his advocacy for craft breweries…
