Maryland’s Voting Numbers Trending Downward

With the Maryland Primary set for April 28th- the deadline to file to run for elected office is just a few weeks away. Locally two seats on the Cumberland City Council and three seats on the Allegany County Board of Education will be up for election this year.  The deadline to register as a candidate is January 24th.  Despite implementing any number of tools to make it easier for Marylander’s to vote as well as being adjacent to the political hot bed that is Washington D.C. – the state’s voting numbers have been trending in the wrong direction. Eric Cortellessa is the digital editor of the Washington Monthly. In an interview with Maryland Public Television he said its difficult to pinpoint any specific reasons for declining vote totals…

    You can’t complain about the state of affairs if you aren’t a part of the system.
    So remember to vote and vote often.
