The Maryland State Board of Education Tuesday voted to remove Wayne Foote from the Allegany County School Board on charges of misconduct in office and willful neglect of duty. The state board meeting began by hearing brief oral arguments from the state and from Foote’s attorney Thomas Lynch. Lynch spent much of his time pointing to what he suggests was a politically motivated effort on the part of the outgoing board to sabotage Foote after he was re-elected to office in November claimed the state had no probable cause to issue the charges against Foote..
