Just a week remains in the 2014 session of the Maryland General Assembly, and Monday was the Maryland legislature's self-imposed deadline for passing a budget for the fiscal year starting in July. However, the Senate and House have each approved their own version of a $39-billion state budget, and now a conference committee of delegates and senators has been formed to work out a compromise.
