Members of Congress from Maryland and the District of Columbia are continuing their push for gun-control legislation after last week's sit-in on the House floor. Maryland Democrats Chris Van Hollen, Elijah Cummings, Dutch Ruppersberger and John Sarbanes discussed the gun-control measures they support during an appearance Wednesday at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Baltimore. The new gun-control efforts by Democrats in Congress were prompted by the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando earlier this month. Maryland U.S. Senator Ben Cardin acknowledged that the proposals being put forward, which included universal background checks and tying the no-fly list into gun purchases, weren't perfect and would not necessarily stop every shooting from happening- but says it’s a step in the right direction…
