WBAL reports several state attorneys general, including Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh, said Thursday that they plan to sue the Trump administration over a policy of separating immigrant families illegally entering the United States.
Frosh tweeted Thursday afternoon that he is suing to reunite families and correct flaws in the president's executive order.
#BREAKING We are suing the Trump Administration to correct the flaws the in President’s EO, reunify families, and halt the practice of refusing to accept asylum petitions at the border. #KeepFamiliesTogether

The action comes as dozens of children separated from their parents at the border are being housed in Maryland. WBAL-TV 11 News has confirmed that as many as 15 children are staying at an undisclosed location in Anne Arundel County.
In addition to Maryland, the states set to join a lawsuit filed by Washington state are Massachusetts, California, Oregon, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Minnesota. New York has separately announced plans to sue.
Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson said the separations violate the due process rights of children and their parents and that President Donald Trump's executive order Wednesday halting the practice has not resolved the legal concerns.
