Attorney General Brian E. Frosh announced today that the State entered into a settlement agreement with the owner of an Annapolis-based podiatry office to resolve allegations of duplicate Medicaid payment claims. Under the settlement, Dr. John G. DeLeonibus, who operates the Annapolis Foot and Ankle Center, will repay the state $28,483.
The settlement covers duplicate claims submitted to the Maryland Medicaid program between Jan. 1, 2008 and Oct. 6, 2014.
“Every dollar improperly taken from the Medicaid program is a dollar that doesn’t go to Marylanders who are in need of quality health care,” said Attorney General Frosh. “This settlement recaptures nearly $30,000 that will be put to good use.”
Attorney General Frosh thanked Assistant Attorney General Anna Schultz Kelly and Medicaid Fraud Control Unit auditor Carol Kelly for their work on this case.
