Just before noon Saturday, Cumberland City Police responded to a business on Queen City Drive for a shoplifting complaint.

Upon arrival the officer spoke to an employee and learned that Anthony Scott Armstrong had attempted to leave the store with unpaid merchandise.  Armstrong was arrested and transported to the police station.

 Armstrong was issued a criminal citation for theft and released pending trial.
