On Saturday, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 500 block of High Bedford Street for a reported domestic assault.

Prior to their response the officers learned that a female inside of the residence was being held against her will. This information was learned from text messages that were being sent by the female inside of the residence.

From the same messages, the officers learned that female had been previously assaulted.

When officers arrived they were unable to contact anyone inside of the residence. The officers established a perimeter around the residence and continued attempting to contact the occupants inside.
