On Saturday, Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant on 31 year old Rodricus Marquees Wilkes, of the city.
The warrant was issued by District Court when Cumberland Police made application in reference to an incident that occurred on November 8th, 2019. On that date, officers responded to a Bedford Street residence for a report of a disturbance.
When officer arrived, contact was made with several individuals; one of them being Wilkes who had visible injuries from a physical altercation. As officers spoke with Wilkes, they noticed that he appeared to be trying to conceal something. Officers made a search of his person and discovered that he was in possession of a quantity of heroin.
Wilkes was charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.
