On 5/31/2016 there were two reported incidents throughout the day where an unknown white male suspect entered stores and forcibly stole money from the cash registers. The two establishments were the Dollar General at 22945 Jefferson Blvd. and the AC&T station at 20505 Jefferson Blvd.; both in Hagerstown, MD.
Troopers conducting the initial investigation processed the crime scenes and collected witness statements. Images from security footage were captured and shared on the State Police social media page. Citizens provided vital information which aided the capture of the suspect. The suspect was located by investigators at the AC&T 1449 S Potomac St, Hagerstown, MD and identified as Anthony Michael Minnick 12/13/1989.
During an interview with Minnick, he fled from Investigators but was soon apprehended. Minnick was transported to Washington County Central Booking and charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of theft under $1000.00, and 2nd degree escape. Minnick was brought before a commissioner and held on a $100,000.00 secured bond.
