On March 30, 2020 officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to Harding Avenue address for a report of an assault. Upon officers arrival they observed Antonio Maurice Smith, who had an active Arrest Warrant. The officers placed Smith under arrest and he began to yell at the victim and threaten their life. Officers then spoke with the victim who stated that Smith had thrown several of their items throughout the house and poured water onto them. The victim also stated that Smith had struck their head off of the door. Officers further learned that the victim had an active Protective Order against Smith. Smith was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.
