Lt. Governor, Commission to Study Mental and Behavioral Health in Maryland, to Host Western Maryland Regional Meeting

Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford and the Commission to Study Mental and Behavioral Health in Maryland will host a Western Maryland regional meeting on Wednesday, October 23 at Hagerstown Community College.
 
The Commission, established by executive order in January and chaired by Lt. Governor Rutherford, has been tasked with studying mental health in Maryland, including access to mental health services and the link between mental health issues and substance use disorders. It includes representatives from the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of state government; representatives from the state departments of Health, Public Safety and Correctional Services, and Human Services, as well as the Maryland State Police, the Maryland Insurance Administration, and the Opioid Operational Command Center; and six members of the public with experience related to mental health.
 
This meeting will allow for individuals, families, advocates, and others to share information and experiences with the commission, which will then use this feedback to deliver recommendations to Governor Hogan at the end of this year.
