Howard Buchanan, longtime business owner of Buchanan Lumber, and community leader has passed away at the age of 85. 

A past chairman of the Canal Place Authority, a driving force in the erection of the George Washington Monument in front of the Court House on Prospect Square, a long time member of the Cumberland Lions Club and many other organizations, Buchanan was known for his love of the community.  Additional details will be provided as they become available.
