The Allegany County Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday positions on a series of bills with local impacts currently being considered by lawmakers in Annapolis. HB483 – Motorist Tax Relief – Motor Fuel Tax – Consumer Price Index and Sales and Use Tax Equivalent Rate Adjustments – Repeal; HB251 – Corporate Income Tax – Rate Reduction; HB723 – Maryland-Mined Coal Tax Credit – Repeal; HB590 – Corporate Income Tax – Rate Reduction – Allegany County and Washington County. The Chamber supports an annual re-evaluation of the gas tax, rather than having it automatically increase. The Chamber supports a reduction in the corporate income tax; and supports preserving the coal tax credit.
