A 45-year-old Keyser man is awaiting trial after being charged with third-degree sex offense in connection with an alleged assault of a minor child in Hampshire County last summer.
Brian N. Westfall was charged by the Hampshire County Sheriff's Office with third-degree sex offense when he was arrested on Oct. 7.
Following appearance that day before Hampshire County Magistrate Shirley Timbrook, Westfall was granted pre-trial release after posting $10,000 bond.
Police said the investigation determined the defendant allegedly forced a minor child to perform sexual acts on him several times over the past summer at a campground near Springfield in Hampshire County.
Chief Deputy Nathan J. Sions reported the investigation is continuing.
