The Cumberland Times News reports a 33-year-old Keyser man was jailed Tuesday night after Keyser Police investigated a suspicious person complaint at an automotive store on Armstrong Street. Police responding to the 9:13 p.m. complaint found Richard T. Saville at the end of one of the aisles where he was observed opening packages and removing items. He was reportedly found in possession of allegedly stolen goods with a value of $20. A check of nationwide police records showed a warrant on file in Allegany County for Saville for the charge of theft under $1,000.
Saville was cited for shoplifting and charged as a fugitive from justice before being taken to the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail to await extradition to Maryland.
