West Virginia Governor Jim Justice began his regular briefing on Thursday by announcing that the number of COVID-19 cases are rising significantly in the state’s eastern panhandle- particularly Jefferson and Berkeley counties- and he may have to consider mandatory masking for those areas. The National Guard has been dispatched to the location to investigate- with those findings to be announced Friday. The governor said it is imperative for all West Virginian’s but especially those in the hot spot counties to follow the established safety guidelines- most importantly when it comes to wearing a mask. Justice says the eastern panhandle is clearly being impacted by its proximity to Maryland and Virginia and that is leading to a spike in the numbers statewide…
On a more positive note, the governor said the latest re opening plans include swimming pools, bowling alleys and other indoor amusement facilities on May 30th; with movie theatres scheduled to re-open June 5th

Unfortunately this virus will end up running IT’S course and be around for a long, long time while the rest of the advanced world contains & eliminates it. Unlike most other countries Americans are too stupid & lazy to take the measures needed to contain it no matter what good advice they get. Like their Freak Reality Show President, Americans quickly have become bored with this ‘virus episode’ and are running to watch ‘work while you get sick’ sequel. We are getting what we’re asking for, except the sane & intelligent ones are being dragged down into the idiot’s quagmire kicking & screaming.

Most unfortunate of all is the bad example set by Our Fearless Leader when he refused to wear a mask while touring a Ford plant in Michigan.
By implication and example he is telling all those of similar ilk, to have no worries and load up your guns and go downtown.

He is right to forget about the eastern panhandle as it is populated with commuting GS 12s trying to live like GS 15s.

What does Justice care? He’s a coal industry billionaire built on the backs of the working poor in southern WV. He can relax in his multi-million dollar estate while the bottom feeders get sick. But at least they can go swimming, bowling, or see a movie.
