A judge has ruled that a lawsuit that could disrupt Maryland's fledgling medical marijuana industry can go to trial. Circuit Judge Barry Williams ruled that a trial should determine whether state regulators acted improperly when they chose certain companies to award lucrative licenses to grow the drug. A protracted court battle could further stall the state’s nearly five year old effort to establish a medical marijuana industry- which has seen more than its share of hurdles. Grow West Md has been granted a license to grow in western Maryland- but the process is lagging statewide.
