Interim Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Jeffrey Blank, has announced that Scott Bauer, teacher at Allegany High School, will assume the vacant position of Assistant Principal at Washington Middle School in an interim capacity through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Bauer fills the vacancy left by Chris Cassell when he moved to Fort Hill earlier this year.
"I am very excited and thankful for the opportunity to join Dr. Kenney, faculty and students at Washington Middle School,” said Mr. Bauer. “I have worked with incredible administrators and teachers over the past 25 years that have prepared me for this tremendous opportunity."
Mr. Bauer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in social studies and a Master of Education degree in administration and supervision, both from Frostburg State University. He began his career in Allegany County in 1996 as a special education teacher. In addition to his duties as a teacher, Mr. Bauer has also been an assistant football coach, a head and assistant baseball coach, and a head girls’ basketball coach.
