On Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1:55 AM, the Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barracks received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving two tractor trailers. Both tractor trailers were traveling in WB I-70 east of Hancock (5mm). One tractor trailer rear ended the other causing significant damage to the rear trailer of the lead tractor trailer and front cab portion of the other tractor trailer. The struck trailer is transporting apple juice, which spilled over the entire westbound lanes. Due to the debris in the road from the vehicles and apple juice spilled, the roadway is currently closed. CHART, local MDOT shop have been called to assist with detours. Tow trucks have arrived on the scene to recover the tractor trailers. One driver was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
