In outlining her agency’s financial needs at a recent budget presentation- Allegany County Human Resources Development Commission executive director Courtney Thomas expressed concern with the potential loss of federal funds. The budget submitted by President Trump would cut a total of five programs currently utilized by the local HRDC. Those programs include the the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program and Meals on Wheels. Thomas noted that a third of Allegany County residents- in some way- receives assistance from the HRDC.
