Governor Larry Hogan will lift Maryland’s stay at home order on Friday at 5 p.m. Hogan said Maryland has achieved the 14-day plateauing and decline of hospitalizations. During a late Wednesday afternoon press conference Hogan announced that rate of new deaths; hospitalizations and ICU patients have steadily declined. Although the stay at home order is lifted, the state will be moving toward a instead to a Safer-at-Home public health advisory. Along with the order being lifted, Hogan announced he would move most of the state into stage one of the recovery plan. Among the new guidelines, retail outlets can open at 50 percent capacity. In addition, manufacturing can resume as long as precautions are in place. Barber shops and hair salons can also reopen, at 50 percent capacity, and by appointment only. Places of worship may resume holding services – but they’re strongly encouraged to have those services outdoors. Indoor worship will be permitted, but at 50 percent capacity, and with appropriate social distancing.
