Governor Larry Hogan today appointed Kristal Hartsfield as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs. Hartsfield holds a Master of Public Administration from Troy University and most recently served as National Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Republican National Committee.
“I have every confidence that Kristal will serve the people of Maryland extremely well in her new role as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, and I look forward to her joining our team,” said Governor Hogan. “Kristal’s wide-ranging professional background and wealth of experience in government make her a perfect fit for this position.”
In her role, Hartsfield will act as the governor’s liaison to local governments, including working with the Maryland Association of Counties and the Maryland Municipal League.
In addition to her time at the RNC, Hartsfield has extensive experience on Capitol Hill, working for the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee and House Policy Committee, as well as for former U.S. Congressman Thaddeus G. McCotter.
