Senior Care Provider Association LifeSpan Network today announced the appointment of Jeffery Metz to the Maryland Health Care Commission, effective March 20, 2015. The position was formerly held by Garret A. Falcone, the Executive Director of Heron Point in Chestertown, who served for nine years on the Commission.
Since 1995 Jeff has been the President and Administrator at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center in Lonaconing, Maryland, a member organization of LifeSpan Network. A graduate of Frostburg State University, Jeff has also served as the Vice Chair of Maryland Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators.
“LifeSpan Network strongly advocated for the appointment of Jeff,” said Isabella Firth, President of Columbia, Maryland-based LifeSpan Network. “As a nursing home Administrator, Jeff will be the only Commissioner representing long-term care on the panel. With the recent and forthcoming changes in the healthcare arena, that voice is more important than ever.”
The Commission is composed of fifteen members appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, for a term of four years.
“I am excited to once again serve the citizens of Maryland,” said Metz. “The MHCC’s role in planning and promoting healthcare for all Marylanders is a challenge and I look forward to it.”
