The proposal includes a series of budget cuts, potentially affecting the state’s more than 100,000 employees. According to the Maryland Professional Employees Council, the state forwarded its “FY21 Budget Balancing” ideas June 17th to the union. Among the measures under consideration: laying off an unspecified number of people; cutting salaries by 5%; eliminating all previously negotiated salary increases and cost-of-living adjustments; and adjusting rules to limit when workers qualify for overtime pay. Hogan, in an online discussion, said governors were recently briefed by experts suggesting the potential for a significant drop in revenues…

how about starting to pay cuts at the top. so the people at the bottom might be able to keep their jobs I found 41 people on the state payroll butt makeover half-a-million dollars. I know these are college professors but I think they could handle a pay cut a little better going to worker at the bottom of the pay scale

MY HUSBAND WORKS 56 TO 60 HOURS A PAY OVERTIME AND WHY BECAUSE THEY CAN’T HIRE ANYONE AROUND HERE BECAUSE OF THE BACKGROUND CHECKS!!!!
THE CORRECTIONAL OFFICER ARE TIRED AND IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR THEM AND EVERYONE ELSE INVOLVED!

> Kim, I’ve been there. The simple fix is to stop running all the inmate programs they continue to run even without staffing needed. These are inmates, they need to pay the consequences.
