Numerous times during this two day swing through Allegany and Garrett counties last week Governor Larry Hogan loudly proclaimed that the "the war on rural Maryland is over “ telling crowds they now have a voice in Annapolis. Hogan noted that he has worked to secure more than a billion dollars of investments in the region in the past two years. Hogan has made numerous visits to the region since taking office and routinely sends cabinet heads to the area- something that was not common during the Martin O’Malley administration. The former democrat governor seldom ventured past Frederick and was not viewed as being western Maryland friendly by local elected officials.
