The Maryland Public Service Commission conducted a three hour public hearing on the application of Dan's Mountain Wind Force for an exemption from the requirement to obtain a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity last evening. The hearing is the latest attempt to move forward a proposed wind farm project for the top of Dan's Mountain.
The first half of the meeting featured supporters and opponents alternating testimony, but the second half was dominated by those opposed to the project. Mineral County Commissioner Dr. Richard Lechliter spoke in favor of the project from the perspective of working with the same principals in his county…
Resident Randy Ridenour came out firmly against the wind project…
Public Utility Law Judge Chuck McLean announced that written comments would be accepted through May 29.

This one is clear. For the people that want the turbines it’s purely about money. People opposed don’t want a turbine in their back yard. Can you blame them? I hope the PSC see this and goes against the people trying to cash in.

You are correct Ed. ANCHOR has court cases to back us up and 64% of the comments last night were against the project. As for Dr. Lechliter’s comments, he was just keeping David Friend’s donations coming in for his next re-election–just like Allegany County’s 3 Commissioners have been doing. Also, conflict of interest for Creade Brode; he has a relative that would have 2 turbines on his property. Check video on March 12, 2020 Commissioners’ meeting. One word: Corruption! We will win the PSC and the Circuit Court cases; truth and justice will prevail!

We need to stop wasting electric running these big fans! Besides, it’s windy enough around here! We need more strip mines that poison our waters just like in the old days. TRUMP2020!!!

Let’s make it fair split the profits 50/50 between the county and the Developers I see if they still want to build them. Of course this is after-tax profit so we still get the property tax off of them
