Yesterday on WCBC’s Dave Norman Program, a caller asked why a recent snakebite victim had to seek treatment elsewhere, intimating that perhaps the Western Maryland Health System was not prepared…
Kathy Rogers, Community Relations Director for the Health System said the local hospital does, indeed, keep anti-venom in stock, and while she could not comment on the specific case, added that sometimes when children are involved, the best treatment option is to send the victim to a facility with a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
