Although one board member described it as nothing more than a “hiccup” in the overall process toward building a new Allegany High School- it does come with a price tag of nearly half a million dollars. Supervisor of Maintenance and School Construction Vince Montana informed the Board of Education on Tuesday that as a result of some hazardous materials discovered during the demolition of the former Sacred Heart Hospital Campus- a change order for the project with an estimated cost of $490,000 is necessary.
