The Cumberland Times News reports a Grafton, West Virginia, man was sentenced to 10 years in the Division of Corrections for stealing between $10,000 and $100,000 worth of items from a Garrett County hunting cabin.Judge Ray Strubin suspended five years of the sentence against Joshua Michael Swisher, 39, who will serve probation upon his release from prison. Swisher will also be responsible for payment of fines and costs totaling $2,185 and restitution of approximately $2,250.
In July, Preston County, West Virginia, deputies stopped Swisher and an unidentified man riding 4-wheelers loaded with personal property items in the Rowlesburg area, Lisa Thayer Welch, state's attorney said.
The subsequent investigation, conducted jointly with investigators from the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office, revealed the 4-wheelers and property, including firearms, knives, a laptop, tools and game cameras, had been stolen from a Sang Run Road hunting cabin.
