Enthusiasm was high with talk of a “blue wave” in the mid-term elections as Democrats converged at the Rocky Gap Casino Resort for the 14th Annual Western Maryland Democratic Summit this past weekend- however according to the polls numbers the party has some work to do to unseat the incumbent republican governor. Nearly two months before the Primary Election, a new Goucher College Poll gives Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, an approval rating of 69%, and the poll shows Hogan leading seven of the nine Democratic candidates on the Primary election ballot in head-to-head contests. The approval rating in the latest poll is compared to a 61% approval rating in a February poll.
