Gov. Hogan And Democrats Continue To Clash On Proposals

Ever since Maryland’s new Republican Governor Larry Hogan delivered his state of the state address in early February, the gloves have been off in Annapolis with democrats routinely and strongly criticizing his proposals. It stands as one of the shortest political “honeymoons” in history lasting roughly two weeks between Hogan’s swearing in and his first major speech. Democrat leaders, including House Speaker Michael Busch and Senate President Mike Miller said the new governor has gone too far, both in his negative description of the state's current economic condition and in the tax relief he is proposing. Governor Hogan tells WCBC News that he is simply following through on pledges he made to voters across the state during his campaign- leading to an overwhelming election night victory. He says his plans that have been so criticized by democrats, are ideas clearly endorsed by the voters of Maryland who were crying out for change…
