After a four-month drop, prices at the pump have been on the rise for nearly four weeks since January 27. Friday’s national average price of $2.28 per gallon is four cents more than one week ago and 23 cents more than one month ago. Consumers are still saving $1.10 per gallon at the pump in comparison to last year, a spread that has slowly started to narrow after widening to as much as $1.25 per gallon on January 26. Maryland’s average is $2.31 per gallon, which is nine cents more than last week, 13 cents more than one month ago, and $1.11 per gallon less than last year’s price on this date. In Cumberland, prices are up 9 cents from a week ago at 2.34
