The sweet sound of falling gas prices is music to the ears of motorists and it’s the kind of melody they don’t mind having repeated each week. Today’s national average price of $2.29 for regular unleaded gasoline marks the lowest price for this time of year since 2004, and prices continue to fall lower. Maryland’s average price is five cents lower than the national average at $2.24 per gallon. The state average is four cents lower than last week, 23 cents less than a month ago, and $1.08 per gallon lower compared to last year on this date.
