A hotel, restaurants, convenience stores and retails shops are all part of the vision of the developer for the Rolling Mill urban renewal project. Preliminary plans for the site were outlined by Ed Scott, of Frederick-based developer Cumberland Gateway, during this week’s meeting of the Cumberland City Council. The land between Maryland Avenue and Park Street and Emily and Williams streets make up the target area and while different scenarios were presented, each of them included a hotel at the corner of Maryland Avenue and Williams Street. Scott said that negotiations with some homeowners are continuing- and that the site could be developed in three phases and include some fill-in, or build-around, elements….
