The National Weather Service has extended a flood watch it issued for Allegany County. Washington County and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. The watch goes into effect at noon and lasts through 4 a.m. Friday. Initially, it was scheduled to expire late Thursday.
A wave of low pressure will move northeast along a stalled front later today, according to the weather service.
Forecasters said the system has the potential to bring several inches of rain, "and with the ground already saturated, flooding is possible."
