The Cumberland Times News reports fire of an unknown origin destroyed the Midland Sportsman Club building at 15300 Patch Road, according to the Allegany County 911 Emergency Center.
The fire was discovered when a member of the club arrived to allow a vendor access to the property just before 8 a.m. Friday.
The building was reportedly fully enguled in flames that were also on the ground, according to the 911 center in its initial alerts to several volunteer fire departments in the Midland area.
The State Fire Marshal's Office was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
Midland Town Clerk Edward J. Baker said the Midland Sportsman Club is located outside of the town and just off Dan's Rock Road.
"It's a private sportsman club. It's a popular spot that's been there for years. They have a lot of members," said Baker.
