A federal jury on Thursday convicted a former state delegate of taking bribes, prosecutors say. Michael Vaughn, 60, of Bowie had represented parts of Prince George's County in the General Assembly since 2003 and once served as the deputy majority whip, but quit just before the start of the 2017 session, ostensibly for health reasons.
He submitted his resignation on the same day that former colleague William Campos reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors in a related case.
