Repair work continues on the Fayette Street Bridge with the span expected to be reopened to single-lane traffic sometime this month. The work is being performed by L.C. Whitford Co., Inc. of Wellsville, New York with CSX Transportation, covering the cost. The bridge has been closed since June 2018 when it was struck by a train. It is one of three railroad bridges on the city’s West Side that have been closed for more than a year due to poor conditions. Work on the project began back in November and the original goal was to see it re-opened by the first of the year.
