On Saturday evening 11/10/2012 into the early morning hours of Sunday, 11/11/2012 Troopers from the Maryland State Police, Cumberland Barrack, conducted a DUI Saturation Patrol on MD Rt. 36 and MD Rt. 40 in and around the LaVale and Frostburg areas of Allegany County. As a result of the special patrol initiative, four Troopers stopped 22 vehicles and issued 15 citations and 21 warnings. The saturation patrol also resulted in 2 DUI arrests.

On Friday evening 09/14/2012 into the early morning hours Saturday, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Barrack in Cumberland conducted a DUI Saturation Patrol in the area of Lavale and Frostburg in Allegany County. As a result of the special patrol initiative, four Troopers stopped 30 vehicles and administered field sobriety tests to one driver, who was not detained for DUI.  This weekend’s patrol initiative is just one of the various enforcement activities which are planned by local and state law enforcement agencies for the National “Checkpoint Strikeforce” initiative.
