It’s only been a month, but apparently downtown residents and business owners are already enthused with the increased police presence on the pedestrian mall in downtown Cumberland. A mid July meeting saw about 150 people pack Windsor Hall with any number of concerns and complaints about the downtown area- many of those focusing on loitering, panhandling, foul language and alcohol and drug activity. On Wednesday, a smaller crowd, but just as enthusiastic conducted a general round table discussion for about 90 minutes on those and other issues.
