On Thursday, February 20th, 2020 the Cumberland Police Department arrested and charged Andrew J Whetzel Jr. for assault when Officers were dispatched to a Virginia Avenue residence for a domestic disturbance. Upon officers arriving, contact was made with a female victim that stated that Whetzel shoved her during an argument. When questioned by police, Whetzel became very aggravated so ensure the female victim’s safety, he was arrested. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.

On 05/03/18 officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 800 block of Gephart Drive for a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival at the residence the officers contacted a male subject with facial injuries. The male subject told the officers that he had been in an argument with his girl-friend, Tristin Dianne Shoemaker. During the argument Shoemaker reportedly punched the victim on the face several times, and then began throwing electronic items belonging to victim which caused damage to the items.
Furthermore; based on the officer’s investigation, and his observation of physical injury on the victim, resulted in the arrest of Tristin Dianne Shoemaker.
Shoemaker was transported to the station for charges and processing. Shoemaker was transported to the District Court Commissioner’s office for her initial appearance. As a result of the hearing she was released on her personal recognizance pending trial in District Court.
The victim of the assault did not require treatment for his injuries.
