A large crowd on hand this week at the Allegany Museum as the new design plans for the downtown pedestrian mall were on display with project representatives on hand to answer questions and listen to concerns. Five alternatives are being looked at as well as a hybrid proposal developed by the Downtown Development Commission. On hand at the event were representatives of the Cumberland Economic Development Corp. as well as associates from McCormick Taylor, a Baltimore-based engineering and design firm, and the Sage Policy Group, an economic development consulting company also based in Baltimore.
