FirstEnergy is reporting that approximately 1400 residents are without power in the Frostburg area. They have advised the Allegany County Department of Emergency Services that power to approximately 700 residents will be restored within the hour.
"We had two request for warming shelters initially, however they have since made other arrangements," Allegany County Department of Emergency Services Deputy Director Roger Bennett said. "If you are in need of shelter, please contact our Joint Communications Center by calling 911."
DES can have warming shelters operational within several minutes. We work with local fire departments and other area agencies to provide this service, Bennett added.
