The DelFest Academy will once again be offered in the week prior to the festival.
Rob and Lisa McCoury were on WCBC's Dave Norman Program Wednesday morning to discuss the academy.
Lisa McCoury told Dave that the Academy consists of a friendly, encouraging and intensive three-day learning experience with some of the finest musicians in bluegrass, and offers instruction for guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin and bass for all experience levels. This year’s instructors includeThe Travelin’ McCourys, Sierra Hull on mandolin, and Cody Kilby and Leigh Gibson of The Gibson Brothers. Students will receive instruction targeted to their individual needs, with plenty of opportunity for one-on-one interaction.
DelFest Academy begins with a registration meet and greet on Sunday, May 17th. Classes will take place Monday, May 18 thru Wednesday, May 20. Food is NOT provided for the duration of the Academy except for the meet and greet on Sunday.
