The vote by the General Assembly in March to support a permanent ban on fracking may be the single biggest blow to the Western Maryland region’s economy in many years. At least that is the opinion of Delegate Jason Buckel. The ban on the controversial method of drilling for natural gas gained momentum when Governor Larry Hogan announced his support for it in March.
