On Tuesday, May 22, 2018 the Cumberland City Police Department responded to a Grand Avenue home for the report of an assault. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim of the reported assault. The victim advised he had been assaulted by his girlfriend, Makayla Ann Gross. According to the victim the two had been involved in a verbal argument inside the home. The victim advised he attempted to leave the home when Gross began to assault him outside the residence. As a result of the officer’s investigation Gross was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department. Gross was processed and taken before the District Court Commissioner where she was released on his own recognizance.

Breaking & Entering Arrest
On Tuesday, May 22, 2018 the Cumberland City Police Department responded to a Decatur Street home for the report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim. The victim advised officers that they were in their home when they heard the front door of the residence open and close. The victim advised he went to see who had entered the home and found two subjects in the living room, a male and female, seated on the couch. The victim advised they did not know who the two suspects were. When the victim confronted the suspects, the male fled the home on foot. Officers arrived on scene as the female suspect was attempting to leave the home and were able to detain her. The female was identified as Brittany Nicole Miller of Cumberland MD. As a result of the officer’s investigation, Miller was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department. She was processed and taken before the District Court Commissioner where she was held on $1,000 bond.
