On Saturday January 3, 2015, at 8:01 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to the 700 block of Elm Street for a reported disturbance. Officers identified one of the individuals involved as Marquise Carpenter, age 21 of Cumberland. A check for wanted was conducted and it was revealed that Carpenter had an active arrest warrant. Officers attempted to place Carpenter in custody but he failed to comply and pulled away from officers. He was placed under arrest at this time. Carpenter was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed, served and additionally charged with Resisting Arrest. The issued warrant was as a result of a November 29, 2014 Robbery investigation at an East College Avenue residence handled by the Frostburg City Police Department. Carpenter was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners Office for a bond hearing and was held on a $50,000.00 dollar bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
