On Saturday at  12:45 AM,  the Cumberland Police Department responded the 700 block of Gephart Drive for theft of a motor vehicle.  The officer on scene obtained a description of the stolen vehicle and provided the description to officers in the area.  A short time later, an officer in the area of East. Industrial Blvd and Virginia Avenue observed the stolen vehicle make a right turn on Virginia Avenue and continue toward Bowen Street.  The officer initiated a traffic stop and the stolen vehicle ultimately stopped in the 800 block of Lafayette Avenue.  Contact was made with the operator of the vehicle.  She was identified as 18 year old, Breanna Nicole Bittner of Cumberland, MD.  Bittner was placed under arrest and taken to the District Court Commissioner’s Office for her initial appearance.  Bittner was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and held on a $3000.00 bond.
